On the path to inspiring Bangladesh’s next generation of space thinkers, Our Scolario hosted a focused and purpose-driven astronomy workshop at RDA Laboratory School and College in Bogura. Held in early 2025 as part of a broader outreach campaign with the Bangladesh Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (BDOAA), this event was tailored specifically to introduce students to the Olympiad and build confidence through relatable, hands-on learning.

The workshop started with an overview of what astronomy and astrophysics really mean—not just as academic subjects, but as fields that help us understand everything from night skies to the origins of life. Students explored topics like solar system dynamics, constellations, planetary motion, and the role of mathematics in interpreting space. These subjects were introduced through interactive discussions and simple experiments using models, drawings, and analogies.

What made this session particularly effective was its structure: each topic was followed by an applied learning moment. Students were asked to solve real BDOAA-style questions in small groups, sparking teamwork and real-time problem solving. This shifted the students from passive listeners to active participants.

In the second half of the workshop, the Our Scolario team shared insights into how students could prepare for the Olympiad—from study strategies and online resources to time management and mock exams. Personal experiences from previous participants were shared to remove fear and build motivation. The students were excited to learn that they would receive continued guidance through follow-up support, group chats, and resource sharing organized by Our Scolario.

Feedback from the school was overwhelmingly positive. Teachers expressed that students who normally hesitate in science classes were engaged and asking questions they had never considered before. Several students signed up on the spot to join the Olympiad preparation group.

The RDA workshop reflects a key principle of Our Scolario: that opportunity doesn’t begin with privilege—it begins with exposure. By delivering subject matter in a practical, inspiring, and student-friendly way, this session laid the foundation for new academic ambitions and a deepened interest in the cosmos.
