Our Scolario x BDOAA | Bogura Regional Astronomy Olympiad 2025 & Outreach Workshop at Sherwood International School and College

It is with great pride and joy that we announce Our Scolario’s role as the official club partner of the Bangladesh Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (BDOAA) for 2025. On March 7, 2025, the 8th BDOAA Regional Round was held in Bogura, drawing a record number of enthusiastic students from across the district—many participating in an Astronomy Olympiad for the first time.

The turnout was truly inspiring, marking a historic moment for Bogura as the largest participation in a regional round to date. Our mission was to spark curiosity, plant the seeds of astronomy in young minds, and inspire a passion for science beyond the classroom—and we are proud to have succeeded.

This achievement was the result of long-term planning, dedicated preparation, and tireless teamwork. In the months leading up to the Olympiad, Our Scolario volunteers visited schools, conducted workshops, and directly engaged with students to build awareness. Their leadership, commitment, and hard work made the event a smooth success.

In recognition of this impactful club partnership, Our Scolario was invited to the National Round for special acknowledgment—an extraordinary honor that strengthens our resolve for future initiatives. We are especially proud of the participating students who overcame challenges, embraced learning, and demonstrated resilience and determination.

Alongside the Olympiad preparations, in February 2025, Our Scolario organized an engaging astronomy workshop at Sherwood International School and College, Bogura. This interactive session introduced students to modern space science—covering topics from the birth of stars to the mysteries of black holes and time dilation. Using real imagery, relatable analogies, and storytelling, our youth facilitators transformed abstract concepts into accessible and exciting ideas.

The workshop also served as an introduction to the BDOAA—guiding students on how to participate, prepare, and access resources. Many left inspired, realizing science can be exciting, challenging, and fun—not just a subject for exams.

Both the Sherwood workshop and the Bogura Regional Round reflect Our Scolario’s mission: to ignite curiosity, empower young learners, and prove that ambition in science does not require elite resources—it begins with a question.
